Yokel Chords

Ignoring the obscure references and slight confusion, this was just what I needed. I've always been worried that, just because I grew up in the south, I'm being stereotyped. I may have mentioned this before, but I'm only half southern. My Mom's family is not like the DelRoy-Spucklers, but they all have the accents. Granny especially: "I de-clare!" On the other hand, my Dad's family comes from New Jersey, but only Grandmom ever had the slightest accent. When I was in driver's ed, the instructor would often want to stop at an old-fashioned pharmacy in Four Oaks, and, after I used a big word, the guy there said "You're not from around here, are you?" I told him my Dad came from New Jersey and the guy jumped to a conclusion. What, just cause I have a good vocabulary? Geez. I sometimes say, when encountering other people in other states discussing people like Jesse Helms, I say to them, "please, don't judge us all by him." Now, about test scores: I've always wondered, what's the point? If you cut off funding, there's no chance that the scores can improve. Heck, if anything, you should give less money to schools with higher scores, because they obviously have enough. I kid, but seriously, everyone needs a fair chance, no matter what.

Pardon the lack of updates. Since my last post, I've seen "Some Like it Hot" in Cinema Classics, and it's now in my top ten. Great movie.
