I'm back from Pennsylvania

I'll just say where I've been:

Gettysburg
Hershey
Auntie Annes Pretzel Cafe
Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (On the way Back)
Virginia Beach

More links to come. For more details, visit my Mom's blog. The link to that is around here somewhere.

I'm no chef, but I am a cook

Today, I'm going to tell how I make Ramen.

You'll need:
1 Electric Pasta pot with colander
If you don't have an electric pot, you can use a regular pot, but you'll need a stove or hot plate
3 packs of Maruchan Ramen (I've tried Nissim, blecch)
NOTE: The best place to buy Ramen is your local warehouse club, e.g. BJ's
A wooden spoon
A paper towel

Fill the pot with water, turn on the heat to High or 212F and wait for the water to boil. It may take a while, but remember, it's there. While waiting, open the packages of ramen and pour the noodles into the colander that came with the pot. If the pot didn't come with a colander, you can use a bowl. Seperate the flavor packets, and you may use them later. When the water boils, lower the colander into the pot, or empty the bowl. If you are like me, you will, at this point, throw the flavor packets away, but most people's tongue aren't as sensitive as mine, so they would empty the packets into the water. While the blocks of noodle are still solid, they will float, so use the wooden spoon to push them down. An advantage of Ramen is that it only takes about 3 minutes to cook, and that's to my standards, some others may like theirs a bit more firm.
If you're sure that the ramen is ready, remove the colander from the water and place it on a paper towel, pour out the water, and hang the colander from the rim of the pot if possible. If you dont have a colander in the water, place one in the sink and pour the contents of the pot into it. Give the ramen some time to drip dry, then pour into a medium-sized bowl. You can then eat it, but wash it down with a cold drink. And that's how I make ramen. Bam! :-)

Oh, and by the way, Jacko got off, that slimy, plastic-faced maniac.

Hit the road, Jake

It's not easy, being a teen driver. This morning, I held my mom to her promise to let me drive in Raleigh for the first time. I'm trying to be good at this, but it's human nature to be nervous when a 16-year-old boy is at the wheel. I try to understand, but as the 16-year-old boy being referred to, I just get annoyed. Life is weird.

OK. If you're the child of two newspaper editors, how well would you fare in a family game of Scrabble? I only bring this up now because I actually beat my Dad by 5 points: 147 to 142. Usually, he beats me. He doesn't exactly mop the floor with me, but my hair does make contact with the carpet (Haha). Also, I can't mop the floor with him, he's more of an old broom. Though I joke about that now, in 30 years, I'll be like that too. Here's hoping I don't inherit his temper.

So, on the 18th, we're going on another family trip, this time to Pennsylvania. I'll keep anyone who reads this posted on that.

OK, that's all I have now. Later, Dude.

Just one thing to say for now:

Some people are so narrow-minded, it's not even funny.

If you want to know what I mean by this, by all means, e-mail me.
