Another long title and a short review

What can I say? I actually disagree with this. Wouldn't Lisa at least bring up Karma? I prefer that term anyway.

Strict Rule Enforcement

A riot (I use that term loosely) just outside my room at about 2AM this morning has really screwed up the whole college experience for me. Half the third floor is under "strict rule enforcement" for the rest of the semester. Whatever that means. That's a letdown, but I've also had a bad cough and a sore throat since Wednesday night. I was coughing like crazy and was worried I'd either puke or choke on my puke.

Oh yeah?

I just saw a commercial that said the Dodge Caravan is better than the Toyota Sienna. This is a first on this blog, but I beg to differ. My Mom used to have a 1989 Plymouth Voyager, which for a while was in the shop every other week. Once in spring 1995, the van's computer had to be replaced. I don't know why it needed a computer, but it was in the shop for nearly a week. At the same time, a hole had been bored in the transmission fluid reservoir of my Dad's 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88, which had never had problems like that. Ergo, we had no car. My parents rented a Geo Metro, which was good for a rental. That, along with Aunt Lesley owning a 1990 model, led to giving up the Olds and buying a 1995 Geo Prizm the following summer. Afterwards, the paint on the Voyager started chipping (turns out, all midnight blue Chryslers had that problem), the air conditioner gave out, and the driver's side automatic window stopped working. By 2000, we got a new Sienna which has only had a couple problems, namely an automatic window switch not working and one door not opening from the inside, but haven't required a visit to the shop (Dad won't take the time to take it anyway). If you think I'm demonizing all American cars, I'll tell you to look back at how the Olds had only one problem but it was getting old and my Mom currently has a 2002 Mercury Sable, which hasn't had any problems.

Anyway, back to my original point. I may be speaking from personal experience, but I don't know if I can trust those vans. Consumer Reports apparently says that only Japanese cars can be trusted, based on their data, but I don't know if I can trust them either. I'll just base any car I buy on price, fuel economy, and convenience. Or, I can move somewhere with public transportation comprised of different companies. For example, The Washington Metro has trains from an American company, an Italian company, a Spanish company, and a French company that has a factory in New York. If I was trying to get to work, I would be just fine with one of the American-made trains.

Anyways, my uncle is the owner of Peterson Toyota Jeep Chrysler Dodge, but I've also had a good experience with CarMax.

Epiphany

Epiphany was last Saturday, but I've had my own. Having slowly noticed that not all Republicans stand behind Bush, and those who do are attacking those who don't, I know what to do.

It all starts with Bill O'Reilly. While Keith Olbermann is the main reason, O'Reilly has taken down the whole MSNBC network for not supporting Bush. While true, the rest of it, that there are no conservatives at MSNBC is bull. Look at Tucker Carlson, for example. He called out Chuck Schumer for driving one block to protest gas prices. He made fun of Neil Young for being Canadian when "Living with War" came out, for crying out loud! Then there's Joe Scarborough. He's the next step. Scarborough was an actual Republican congressman and he's admitted to being dissatisfied with our government and with O'Reilly. Last week, he took on O'Reilly for those anti-MSNBC remarks and reading the transcript of that, I had the aforementioned epiphany. I consider Scarborough "fair and balanced" at any rate. Anyway, my brilliant idea is that the part of the Republican Party that doesn't support Bush should branch off and form the "New Republican Party". Don't worry about splitting the Right-Wing votes, we on the Left have Ralph Nader to do that for us. The moniker "New Republican" could and probably should be changed, but I can't think of anything else.

I know hardly anyone reads this blog, but in the off chance someone does and has the time, money, and power to do what I'm outlining here, go ahead.

Using my PDA

I'm blooging from the Cafe A La Cart in the LA building at SAPC. My new PDA has Wi-Fi and is accessing the internet via the Wi-Fi in the LA building. I just had my first Western Civilization class and will have my first Writing Workshop II class in about 45 minutes.

2007 so far

Not much going on yet, unless you count how the war continues to go nowhere slowly, so slowly, it's basically lost its purpose. Why did we go there again? Anydangway, here's tonight's Simpsons review:

The first part was boring, so I knew that wouldn't last long. I've never had that problem where beaches go downhill, but what do I know? I always went to Sunset Beach, and I haven't been there in years. The whole thing where Lisa was trying to save the fish just shows, albeit exaggeratedly like everything else, that people don't listen. I don't eat fish anyway. The global warming exhibit mentioned three years, but we only need about two years, twelve days, and 15 hours to fix that, if you know what I mean.

Also, tommorow I go back to school. My new classes are Creative Writing, Writing Workshop II, Cinema Classics, and Western Civilization. The last one is likely to happen, because I was aiming for Psychology but I was, like, in line to get it but it filled up.
