Letting it out

I had had a long week, and I needed to unwind. Again. So, after seeing my Mom's latest blog post and her first time dropping the D-bomb on her blog, I couldn't resist pulling a harmless but embarrassing prank on her. I pretended to be her mom, my granny, and gave her a talking-to about cursing. I then called Mom at home to hear her reaction and so she could hear me laugh my @$$ (thanks for the good example, Mom) off. She took it well. She's smart, so she probably knew when she first saw me, that I would be mischevious. I wasn't really, but I've had my moments. I heard her and Dad's reactions and said to her, shortly before hanging up, "you're gonna get me back for this, aren't you?" She said she would, but wouldn't say when. So stand by, I'm definitely gonna pay for that one.

One of the longest days of my life.

I got up at 5 am to go to Charlotte for the Metrolina Career Fair. Along the way, I rediscovered Burger King French Toast Sticks, witnessed Charlotte's famous rush hour firsthand, and all the other stuff you can gain from a 2.5 hour drive mostly uphill. While there, I learned about career opportunities at, among other places, Bi-Lo, FDIC, and Walgreens. And then, it was only about 11 AM. An hour later, I was back in the van, on the way back to Laurinburg. Along the way, I rediscovered Chick-Fil-A Chicken Nuggets. Finally, getting back to SAPC, I had to do some laundry, which I'll admit is easy, except for lugging dirty clothes downstairs and clean clothes back upstairs. Then, only then, I could unwind.

Springfield Up

To quote Homer nine + five or seventeen or many years ago: Brilliant. I have absolutely no idea what's going on. I think it needed a frame story.

Catching up is hard to do

My apologies for the lack of a Simpsons review last night. I didn't feel up for even watching it.

On Sunday I went on a campus trip to Broadway at the Beach, a shopping area (Not a mall, not a strip mall) in Myrtle Beach. My group ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and did some shopping. There was one store there called Retro Active which had all kinds of memorabilia from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I was around for only part of that era, but I think it must have been awesome. Here's a secret tip as to how to get there: Go south on I-95, take exit 181A onto SC 38 East. Go south on US 501 past Marion and through Aynor. According to GribbleNation, if you're going to North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach north of 65th Ave North, take SC route 22 around Conway. Anywhere south of that, stay on 501.

Also, on Friday, one of the custodians said that $40 fell out of her pocket. I was a bit wary at first, but I decided to help her out. I had an e-mail sent to everyone on campus asking for them to turn it in. That seems to have worked, as earlier today, I asked her and she said she had gotten it back. Now I think she really likes me.

Big game, big deal

The Superbowl is on right now. The third quarter has just started, and Indianapolis is ahead by two points. Meanwhile, in my life, I spent part of the first quarter and all of the second quarter downstairs watching with everyone else. After the halftime show, I realized, once again, that I'm not cut out for this whole social life thing. So, I'm back upstairs, writing this blog. I'm still watching the game, but I'm mostly interested in the commercials. It was a little embarrassing escaping the room, so I ran off when I was sure no one was watching. It's okay, I can live with this.
